I'm just wondering if this has been my least enjoyable season ever

It might just be this one is closest and rawest and so it's difficult to judge rationally. All relegation seasons are rubbish but this one does seem to have taken the biscuit for me.

I hated us being relegated in '95. It seemed the end of an era and wasn't that the year of the library fire? It all felt so sad for the city but that season had had it's moments (did we do ok in the cups?) and I was sure we'd bounce back.

I know some people find the 90s/early 2000s a grind where we were bouncing along in mid table mediocrity in the champs, but I've got some happy memories of that time. You could always get tickets and they were often given away to schools. We'd often take groups of kids who were always so excited to be there, so they wouldn't be my least favourite seasons.

Relegation to L1? Obviously it was awful, but it felt like it was coming so didn't feel as shocking as this season has been.

Right from the get go things have gone wrong. The progress of the team has been woeful, hampered by injuries throughout. The style of play non-existent. It's been SO difficult watching us at times. I don't think the listless crowd deserves any criticism. Well done them for turning up! Meanwhile the criticism levelled against the club from outside has been unbearable (and unfair at times) making me want to just disengage from all of it. This season I've started to accept that the club that I have so proudly defended for having it's system is never going to be welcomed into the EPL. (I don't have a problem with this but I know lots of other fans do and the thought of rehashing all those arguments depresses me. I like it when we're all together!)

Finally, I think I've mentioned before, but I'm very sad with the way Daniel left.
