Even if you take his point seriously, Ashton had a groin injury when he signed for west ham and didn't play for two weeks, so he was out for nearly month effectively
He wasn't rushed into the first team either, instead he was subbed on for the last 20 of games so he could get fit. Eventually he started showing the flashes of what he could do and without 4 games of 20 min cameo subs, he was put in the starting line up
Would Worthington have brought him back like that?
Nige would have played him and played him till he was out for the season then bemoaned his luck with injuries
How he dare uses Ashton as a scapegoat for screwing up his squad
