Ukraine expected invitation to join NATO.
We now all hear that the 'conditions for membership are a long way from being met'. Suspect that's news to Ukraine.
With that and NATO countries doing less than Ukraine had anticipated even ref.sanctions, Ukraine now thinks NATO et al aren't the partners/allies they'd expected. And will they ever be?
So, for Ukraine, a negotiated 'neutrality' status a'la Finland suddenly becomes an option.
The key is 'negotiated'. True neutral status as opposed to neutrality a'la Putin.
