from what i can see is that Putin sees Ukraine wanting to be part of NATO is a threat to Russia ( i have no idea if it is )

also from what i can find out Ukraine was always part of Russia ( can someone confirm or not ) apart from acouple of years after WW1 and so Russia sees it as part of Russia and it was part of the old USSR

He also claims that the Ukrainings have been subjected to
bullying and Genocide and he wants to de-Nazify Ukraine and demilitatrize it

To me maybe the only way out is to persuade the Ukrainians to adopt a policy of Neutrality , but they dont want that
