I was at both finals (teenage days....). If I'm honest I do think
we were second best in both games - particularly the one against Villa when I did have real hopes we would win. The Spurs game in '73 was pretty poor by both sides but again I think they were less poor than us. Remember buying a City flag. It had pride of place in my bedroom till I moved away. Found it many years later when clearing old stuff out and rehung it. Still have it!
By way of redress I was also at Wembley in '85 for the League Cup and 2015 for the Playoff Final. Much more enjoyable!
