are trying out the 'other' vowels if they don't come up in the first guess. And often, having (for example) been blown out on a, r and i, will naturally then go for an 'ou' word.

This is why there were so many twos the other day when the answer was 'mount' and today there will probably be a few more twos again.

Both plausible AND useful guesses though.
