be careful, we've had ours over 12 year, still looks like new
john lewis delivered a sofa and scratched the original veneer one. people we bought it off sold it as "real wood" which (after the scratching) turns out to mean real wood veneer. john lewis offered to replace the entire floor and paid for solid oak floor (something must have got lost in translation there but there we go). we've never done any maint to it other than sweeping up.
