He’s not been charged with any crime. He’s being sued for money by her
Not being prosecuted by the USA.
My guess is that he’s intending to withdraw from the case so as to avoid cross examination (which would mean that he won’t “clear his name”) and that when he told Liz that she said “well you’re out then”
