I really think that Tennis Australia are the main culprits here...no way this is a mistake

They need the world Number 1 at their biggest tournament, because, well, money.

Djokovic of course knows all this so has them over a barrel about it. He is also intransient about his vaccination status, so TA needs to do everything to get him in the tournament and the country. I imagine that they thought that no one would want the political fall out of not letting the world no1 tennis star into the country...unfortunately they got that feeling wrong.

Whether TA and Djokovic are being truthful about his having covid, and thus getting an exemption, is also up for debate considering the way they have treated the federal rules, it is really not too far a leap to think that its all a ruse too.
