It’s a cruel disease that impacts so many of us in some way.

I’m sorry for your loss, and please do not question the fact you fell asleep. He will have known and appreciated you being there, and from my experience he may have even waited and known you nodded off. As a father perhaps it was something he felt he could do to ease your pain too.
