I dont know whether its harsh, but I feel this too.
Shouldn't have called the league for "guidance" as has been reported. Should have told them, and if that didn't work take it to the press.
Seems clear now (Bailey tweets about players with temperatures) that the fixture should never have been played, and the Club has given away the chance to win points by proceeding.
(I appreciate I have no idea what conversations were had - maybe we tried everything and the league just said no regardless. But I would have quite fancied having a good go at getting it cancelled and kicking up a hell of a fuss in the press in the run up if the league continued to say no.)
