On Saturday, when Josh was substituted, I watched him walk from the old Jerrold stand all

the past the Riverend back to the dugouts. He was applauded all the way and responded by clapping the crowd back. All the way round. Even from my seat high up in the Riverend, you could see how proud he was and how chuffed he was.

I felt so happy for him.

I don’t understand why some posters have been so harsh on him after last night. It’s not the first time our young players have been given a hard time over the years. Why not trust the system? Deansmith spotted that he wasn’t being effective and substituted him. No doubt the team of coaches will be working with him and it’s likely there will be some matches which will play more to his strengths. The constant negative energy coming from some is exhausting to read :(
