Two versions of rugby: one has more complicated rules than the other
Union (which I assume you were watching since England are on): lots of laws and the rucks, mauls and scrums hide the ball. Line outs also complicate things.
League (mostly played by Aussies and northerners): simpler rules (though they seem to tweak them every year for some reason), no rucks or mauls all line-outs, 13 players per side rather than 15. I’d argue easier to follow but Union fans would say it’s one dimensional
When played expansively both versions can be very entertaining, but many times aren’t
