The mitigation for FL's time at Chelsea is, for the most part, their ambitions had been greatly reduced. He did very well within those parameters in Year 1. Pretty badly in Year 2.
But what Tuchel went on to do there is, frankly, extraordinary - and it's not reasonable to compare almost anyone with a phenomenon like TT.
Lest we forget, a World Cup-winning manager failed badly at Chelsea. As did one of the brightest young things in the game at the time. As did said very poisonous swine.
