Well, it’s hard to escape the conclusion that we are already down

Sure, we might win the next three games and we’ll all be talking about top 10 finishes. But the team is just miles off. To get a few wins in the next few games would require a miracle along the lines of rising from the dead.

One goal from open play. And 2-3 calamitous mistakes at the back every game. Against everyone and anyone.

And looking at who we’ve played, discounting Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea, we’ve generally played most teams when they were not at their best. Key players out, in a bad run of form. True for Leicester, Arsenal, Everton, Burnley, Watford and Leeds. We managed one point from that lot, and then a “good” home point from Brighton too.

We are going down. In last place. Almost certainly cut adrift from 19th. With a strong chance of taking a bunch of unwelcome records.

I’ve no idea whether that means we should stick with Farke. He is responsible for both getting us here in the first place, but also for failing to put together a squad/game plan that can even allow us to stay in touch with the worst sides in the division. I’m getting a bit numb to the whole thing now, because our work so far is frankly embarrassing.
