May well be wrong but the Tuchel / Farke link is the thing for me in this....
Chelsea offered us Gilmour on loan (who tbf is a very good player if playing in a certain formation) and we wet ourselves to take him without properly thinking too much about him and if/how he might fit into our game. Especially for this difficult (and getting more difficult by the day) season. Now seems clear he probably doesn't fit....
However, good as he is, if he doesn't fit our style then why should he get a game? Not necessarily true to say our treatment of him has been a disgrace, more the point why did we take him in the first place if it was likely he wasn't going to fit.
