He's stronger than PLM but what it really needs is positional discipline

We still have 3 midfielders, haring around trying to do everything.

What it needs and what we've alsways needed, is a player who sits in front of the back 4, keeps it simple but plugs that f**king great hole teams are able to pass/run through at will and who also reads the game well enough to be able to cover the full backs occasionally when they lose the ball up the pitch. Arguyably against teams like Chelsea we need 2 players doing that.
