Why is it always “but if we lose to x”?

We’ve just lost 7-0 on national tv and are a laughing stock. We’ve lost 17 of our last 19 premier league games snd scored 3 goals.

I don’t get why when it’s clearly not working managers are always given one more chance. It’s not like we’ve been unlucky or look even close to clicking like we did at times early in his tenure.
