That said, I don't think there was anything in the Laws which said about VAR being differentiating offsides by a hair's breadth, using an arbitrary frame which seems was the last moment the ball was in contact with the attacker's foot to make that assessment. "Clear and obvious" errors went out of the window pretty quickly and it became too forensic.

I would say it was bulls**t implementation of VAR by PMGOL rather than anything else.

I agree, though, that is seems changes have been made for the better since we were last affected by it. Here's hoping...
