it'd be nice if you could only register social media accounts with ID

One account per ID. Anonymous usernames as far as the outside world is concerned, but that you have to lodge ID to get an account.

You'd get the very odd whacko slip through the net, but it'd clean up all the sock puppet crap.

(and on wider social media you'd break the sense of invlunerability many of the trolls and bigots have.)
