was thinking about that last night.....

.....thing is it would have two consequences:

- loads more games ending the second leg tied and going to extra time / pens. Would also give more advantage to the team playing home second (ie extra half an hour playing at home).

- and teams would probably be much more defensive playing away from home. So more boring games.

Agree it's a bit of a strange rule. But probably makes for better football?
