In answer to your question below, I am a member if the first generation in my family ever to be brought up entirely in England. My father was half and half; before him it was entirely Scotland.
So I’m a bit ambivalent. It’s like people of Indian heritage who were born and brought up here but whose parents or grandparents came over from Delhi and so aren’t quite sure whom to support when England play India at cricket.
