But I suspect he'd want assurances that he'd be played/have a chance.
It's the sort of thing where it might be the timings that are tricky. My guess is that he'd jump at another season here as a guaranteed starter, if he thinks he's going to struggle to gain a regular starting berth.
However, he (and spurs) are unlikely to know the lie of the land until the first few weeks of the season.
We'll have plugged the gap before then, though we might leave space for competition in that role. That's the only way I can see him coming back.
