Fine most of the time as I prefer dark roasted French/Italian blend beans and they are quite oily. To get a decent espresso grind on lighter roasted beans, I had to dial the grind right down (I did the recommended mod to the machine) but found that I had to assist the beans into the grinder. As I said, not a prob for me, but if I wanted to experiment with lots of different beans, I'd prob get a better one
