in terms of players brought in to the first team squad, as possible starters. That's ridiculous.

Weirdly, this team peaked in terms of quality when they came second two years ago. They didn't play as well last season and have now fallen off a cliff.

Part of the reason for that has been a lack of proactivity and aggression in the transfer market.
