Massively pisses me off how he's been treated

(am a Worcestershire fan)

He's been moved up and down the order to make life comfier for various teammates which has undoubtedly messed with his batting, bowling (and averages). Nevertheless, he's still our best spin bowler and still capable of massively destructive batting.

He played the first test of the ashes with a hand injury, was scapegoated, dropped, and subsequently lost his contract. For someone who has given so much for the team to be treated so shabbily is massively poor from Smith. It's clear that it has had an impact on his game.

There's been efforts to mend those bridges, and he was given the chance to captain the one day team. Having seen him captain Worcestershire brilliantly - there's something not quite right there still.

Now this. He's 'chosen' to go and see his young family, as agreed beforehand, having spent time with covid and in isolation.

If England want to be a successful side they've got to get better at man management (they've done a s**t job with Bess and they're doing a poor job with the batting too).

Looks like they'll play Stokes injured and break him Eadie style too.
