I've crunched some stats (because I am sad)

Rupp and Skipp have started together 11 times in the league.

In those 11 games we have scored 10 goals.

4 of those ten goals came after one of them had been subbed (mainly Skipp having gone off actually).

So we have scored 6 goals in the best part of 11 games with this central midfield combo, 3 of which came away at Bristol when Stiepermann and Pukki were on fire.

So, whilst i am not blaming either player for this (and indeed think both have been playing pretty well and not helped on Tuesday by Pukki being completely out of sorts) I deduce that there is perhaps (and particularly against opponants who sit in which Bristol didn't) an issue with creativity and scoring goals when we play this particular midfield combo, I suspect because both like to play lots of short, sideways passes so we perhaps don;t get the ball into the final third as quickly as we do when a more direct midfielder plays and for many games we might perhaps be better dropping Vrancic deeper alongside Skipp or Rupp or obviously reverting to the Kenny/Skipp combo.

Just my take on it. Sure others might disagree.
