no matter, there is a quite delicious petty row that has broken out in our village where the parish council have taken it upon themselves to arbitrarily close the car park to the staithe and there has been one almighty hell-up on facebook (I am not on FB my wife keeps me informed of the ongoing farce).

It is so nuanced it is ridiculous but people have taken it upon themselves to take photographs of car number plates as "damning evidence" of so called COVID transgressors from outlying areas. Anti parish council vandalism has been suggested and people have been encouraged to "call the POLICE" if they witness village outsiders parking on the street.

There have been counter arguments about the mental wellbeing of parishioners who can't walk to the staithe for exercise as they have multi-kids and need to drive there as there are no pathways on some sections of the road.

Someone actually posted "If you don't like it here then I can always furnish you with a ruddy good estate agent!".

Somebody else chimed in that they would get in their car and go and cut the chain and remove the cones and utilise the carpark that "belonged to all the villagers" the minute they were over their risk of thrombosis from a leg clot"

My God, I love this country so much.
