Without wishing to rock the boat....
...but ultimately it will.
After every poor performance this year I have fumed over worthington and called for his head, but then, as time has gone on I have re-alligned my thoughts and I am unsure over what i want to happen.
On the one hand, part of me says get rid of him, hes shown that his time has come, his tactical ineptitude and lack of respect from the fans surely makes his position untenable.
But then, part of me thinks, hang on, he has had us playing great football before, we romped to the championship under his guidance and nearly stayed up last season. At this point many say, "well you can't live in the past", and thats a fair point, i have no real response to this.
I do think that he should be given pre-season to try and instill the very same attitude that allowed us to romp to the championship title with, what was on paper, a far weaker squad.
Just as a good player doesn't become a bad player over night, does it not apply to managers aswell? Maybe just, a pre-season with lower expectations, a good squad, a full pre-season, getting his players in early *could* be the catalyst he needs to get us winning again.
I'm not saying that it is a definite, but do we really need the uprest that we have had at this club over the past 15 years again? I would be tempted to give the guy another chance to prove his worth, start a fresh, and not to make us into another sheff wednesday or notts forest.
I hope people will respect this as my opinion, and not unleash a tirade of abuse telling me how much s**t i talk. Would much prefer some usefull criticism and some formulated argument.
