Understand your reasons
The flexibility is more important than the fixed income for you.
Sanlam are a sizeable outfit, I forgot to mention that AVIVA also provide DB pension advice.
The problem is they will charge you for the advice irrespective of whether they recommend you switch the pension....so you could shell out hundreds/thousands and still not be able to move it!!
This strictly speaking is how all DB advice should be given as it reduces conflict of interest.
We always gave people an initial idea of whether it was likely we would recommend they should switch as it meant people didnโt commit to paying for advice without the desired outcome.
If you are desperate to move it I would suggest you phone round local IFAs, Iโm certain there will be the odd one who still gives this advice.
Make sure you ask how they charge and whether they will give you an initial view of whether itโs likely they would suggest a switch - saves wasting time and money.
Always happy to assist!
