You are right (though actually I am calm)

but I think one of the lessons of the past few years - and indeed the past few days - is that muck-stirring and lying on social media *should* be called out. Even when it seems trivial and harmless.

Correct people with the facts and evidence the first time. If they carry on lying after that, call them out for it. We are in a misinformation epidemic, and it has real effects.

I know this all sounds overly serious for a football message board, and some people will slag me off for it. But a lot of the misinformation and lying happens on places like this. And seems trivial, until it isn't.

I'll stop (on this) now, anyway.
