As a scientist I have a bit of an issue with the opening statement of the article.

"Ten years' vaccine work achieved in about 10 months. Yet no corners cut in designing, testing and manufacturing."

While I agree no corners were cut, they were certainly rounded a little bit.
There is clearly a risk/reward trade off to get this to market.
Ask yourself why in the past there has been long periods between the various phase trials?
Yes it might have been an over abundance of caution in many cases.
While I 100% support the science I feel we have to be honest and say there are some long term things we don't know.
