Full of admiration for my parents this morning

We could easily sneak them into Git Towers for Christmas lunch - middle of nowhere, no prying eyes etc etc. And they know that, and they're only 10 minutes away, and they really want to come. But they've just phoned to say no - the government has said not to, so they're not going to. They're in their late 80s, war kids, straight down the line, absolute old school. HMG says no: it's a no.

And mum had the foresight to buy a turkey crown for two weeks ago, because she knew it was all going to go Pete Tong. Bless.
