Kind of felt like we got outclassed when we came up against the very best teams.

But that was okay as there were new young players coming into the team and they were playing with energy and purpose.

Seems to me like we've actually slid backwards somewhat since then. Not really had players come through to fully cement their place in the side. Team discipline hasn't been great off the pitch. Tactically we don't seem to have finessed plan A or got viable backup plans.

Plan A is so reliant on pace we looked pretty unthreatening without Rashford or Sterling. With that in mind if you're plugging a system reliant on pace then Grealish and Mount were the wrong choice.

Grealish looked okay but I think the pundits' superlatives are a bit overdone (surprise, surprise) - he needs to build an understanding with the rest of the forward line (which he mentioned himself post match).

The England team is okay - but I can't see us challenging for honours anytime soon.
