One of my most memorable days in Mexico was spent hunting for and roasting fungi
on the side of a volcano with an old woman.
You always feel a bit nervous about munching down a load of totally unknown mushrooms (to me at least), but we collected probably about 30-40 different types and the range of flavours was something else.
I've been out collecting mushies before, but they never seem to look exactly like the pics in the books so there's always that nugget of doubt that you're about toi eat your last meal or maybe have your third eye well and truly opened
