They will be waiting until they have enough data to show efficacy

What will be interesting is if one vaccine is 'better' than another but different countries have supplies of different vaccines.

Say the AZ vaccine is far less effective than Biontech. The UK has some Biontech vaccine and a load of AZ. Who gets the good stuff and who gets the less good stuff? You could imagine some people wouldn't be happy getting AZ?

How about if Germany is vaccinating its entire population with Biontech, France only has AZ and Italy none at all?

How about the UK approves Biontech this afternoon using its post-brexit legislation while the EU or the US takes its time approving the vaccines? Some nations watch other nations hoover up the existing supplies because their regulators are slow (arguably behaving in a reasonable manner)?

Will be interesting to see.
