Press news in...
Daniel Farke addresses the media ahead of Brentford v Norwich City. Updates to come from 1pm.
-------------------------------------------------------------
DF: Not too much news, Christoph Zimmermann is still not available and Josh Martin is out with back problems. There's a little question mark with Todd Cantwell, he got a little hit on his hip. Todd seems okay, we got him on the training pitch and he seemed okay but it's a little question mark for tomorrow.
DF: My prediction was that Christoph Zimmermann would miss just the Rotherham game, but he's now out for this one, so I don't want to predict anymore. I hope to have him back as soon as possible
DF: Marco Stiepermann is also available for tomorrow after coming back on to the training pitch
DF: We're pleased with these nine points, no other team on this level were able to get that this week. We turned the game around against Rotherham, we were patient for a winner against Birmingham and Wycombe had a little setback. They were all deserved wins, I'm pretty delighted with the performances.
DF: Winning has to be a habit and it feels like this. The gut feeling throughout the Wycombe game was that we were going to win the game. We have many goals and assists from the bench, Mario Vrancic, Przemyslaw Placheta and Adam Idah.
DF: Mario is a guy you can always count on, he's a fantastic guy and a great football player. He has goals and assists in him, he doesn't have to see a pass, he feels a pass. Whenever Mario came into the game in our title-winning season, he had a goal in him. Mario is something really special.
DF: Brentford are one of the favourites for me. They were pretty close to direct promotion last season. They have grown from season to season and this is always a good pedigree in fighting for promotion. They lost two really important players, but have great replacements with many goals so far this season.
DF: We're fully aware of their strengths, they have a top group and I'm pretty sure they'll finish in a top position in the end. It's a difficult one but we want these points.
DF: To be honest, it wasn't a surprise for me that Ivan Toney is the top scorer so far. He comes into a pretty settled environment and a team that know what they have to do. He's capable to score goals, it's good for the confidence and he's nearly close to double figures so early in the season. I'm sure he'll score more goals, but hopefully not tomorrow!
DF: Todd Cantwell is a player full of potential and since I've worked with him the past two years he's developed weekly. He should be one of the best offensive players this season and he's proved this in the last few games. I'm pleased I have Todd in my squad.
DF: We don't have to speak about Teemu Pukki's value for us, he took this league by storm two years ago with the golden boot and was by far the best player in this league. He's started this season with goals and assists, especially for his national team. Hopefully he can prove this more over the next few weeks.
DF: It's still early on in the season, we will rotate when the season develops. When you play every three days, you have to make decisions and speak to the players to see how they feel. You don't want to disrupt the rhythm. It wouldn't be healthy to rotate seven or eight positions, but possibly one, two or even three.
DF: I think it will definitely be a closer game. After the game Karanka said they were just trying to survive against us. We like possession and to dominate the game close to the opponent's box. The more we have the ball, the better we'll control the game and Brentford can't score. I'd like to dominate as we did the last opponents, but I expect a game where small details will be crucial in winning points or not.
DF: We need an all-round performance, it's hard to press them. We have to handle disappointments, although our pressing is good, they find ways to keep the ball. We need to be compact in periods where we have to defend.
DF: We're fully aware of their strengths, but we're also aware of ours. We'll travel there in a good mood and hopefully come home in a good mood with three points.
DF: To be successful it isn't a one-man show anymore, you need a proper group of lads who know how important it is to be successful. You also need greedy lads who have something to prove and are capable to bring potential.
DF: All my offensive players are different, you can't compare Jordan Hugill with Emi Buendia. I'm not over the moon when we score a late goal by a penalty, but my players know I totally trust them when they're on the pitch to score goals. All of my players can improve, but I'm happy I have them.
DF: We haven't conceded a goal by a set-piece yet, not one in seven games, Jordan Hugill helps with this when he's on the pitch and it's completely different to last season.
DF: The expectations during the season are a bit higher, we had a few topics to struggle with after relegation. We spoke about mindset, confidence and transfer speculation. For more or less every team, the game against us is the game of the season because we just played on the Premier League level.
DF: When we were in the Championship, games like Millwall's 4-3 win got everyone excited, now a late goal is seen by people as we could've had it a bit easier by scoring more and winning the games earlier.
DF: Many teams struggle after relegation and we're not Liverpool or Manchester City. We're not too good for this league, we can't win every game 5-0 or 4-0. It's important we still feel this excitement, but it's quite normal when we were on such a level. We need to enjoy when we win games late.
