I think Farke's philosophy is to defend the ball by

Keeping possession and using his defenders as the starting point for attacks.I really don't think l,other than teaching them positional sense that they concentrate anywhere near enough on actual defending. Farke's not alone in that either.There's a footballer in Godfrey but he won't excel as a defender at NCFC.
