I said this when we were in the EPL

Money needs to find its way down the pyramid faster and in greater quantity than before. That means more EPL TV money going to EFL and them managing it competently. It means EPL clubs taking less of the pie. It means clubs at least at National League level and probably the tier below that getting help which while peanuts to a top club is very material to them. DCMS should be taking a leading role in making this happen: they don't have direct power but the convening power they do have is a lot more useful in terms of outcomes than is commonly realised, and if they matched funds - we're talking tiny amounts in public spending terms - and the minister was committed they could create real momentum.

The clubs we've seen fold or enter admin are the tiniest sliver at the top of a great big iceberg. There is still time to act, maybe along the lines I've suggested or in different way; but action there must be.
