Different depth of quality I suppose

Adams, Butcher, Wright and Walker probably ahead of him in the latter stages of Bobby Robson's reign.

Not really sure why he didn't get a look in under Graham Taylor though. He was at his peak 92-94, Butcher was older and Wright/Walker went down hill pretty quickly.

You'd think an Adams/Bruce partnership in quals for the 94 World Cup would have worked.
