Equal pay for equal work is fine

Equal pay for being far less good at the work in question is virtue-signalling stupidity

I don't understand why Wimbledon (eg) pays the same to the winner of the women as to the winner of the men, when the winner of the women probably wouldn't even qualify for the men's tournament. The whole point of segregating men form women in sport is that if you didn't, and just made everything open to all, women wouldn't win anything. So why pay them the same? In brainwork (like my profession, the law), women are very bit as good at it as men and thus fully deserve the same pay. The same is not true in sport.
