Some suggestions.

I know there are hiring companies that specialize in remote working. These are used by people who travel/live in RVs and Vans. you wont get rich but its better than nothing and you may have an advantage with the time difference.

Second, and I'm sure least popular. Pivot.....
I know people who realized that with people stuck at home that online selling is the way to go and have done very well.
With your computer skills you would have a huge advantage selling online. The business will also be a cushion against future interruptions in employment.
Always have a plan A, B, C and Z....
There is a reason the high street is dying all over the world.
As you have discovered working for others has a limited upside and you can be treated like a commodity and thrown away at a moments notice.
Tons of people who are not that smart have made a fortune buying and selling stuff with no limits to the upside.

If you have the balls you will find people who are successful and try and reach out to them to see if they will help or mentor you.
While you may get some rejections, some will admire your balls and remember the times someone helped them.
