I think only (?) Turkey recognises Northern Cyprus so it's all technically one country even though there's a ruddy great big armed border down the middle.

Odd place. I can still remember driving around Varosha (the bombed out bit of Famagusta that was left 'as is') twenty odd years ago. Eerie.
