I don't think it is odd, the Clubs probably have a contractual obligation to the TV

channels to pay the games, if they play them they get paid, the Clubs get paid & obligations are met, the games are irrelevant because nobody wants to play but the cash cow is resolved. Clubs can take less risks & play under strength teams to meet the fixtures, the only problem they then have is when does the nest season start.
