Passing of a Wrather

I want to announce the passing of the long-time Barclay End season ticket holder and Wrather, Maxs Handler, mostly a lurker and also my father. I’m not sure if we are the only father / son members, but it meant that the Wrath was often a topic of conversation for us, alongside the football proper. Many a chat began with ‘Did you see on the Wrath….’ And the postings of regular posters were discussed and dissected like they were proclamations of public figures.

I’m not posting this for sympathy - he had a good innings and a peaceful end - but to say that at its best the Wrath is something that brings people together, makes us laugh, and brings out our better, more generous nature. I’m sure there are many others like myself and my dad who find something in this strange little community that keeps drawing them back. RIP Dad.
