A lot of clubs are funded by their owners though.
So a player taking a pay cut wouldn't save the club money per se, but rather it saves the owner from having to dig so far into their pockets.
I don't disagree that all parties involved in a football club should consider what they can / should do at this time, however I take issue with the general view (not saying that you hold it) which simply says that footballers should agree to reductions in their pay irrespective of any other considerations.
