I know what you’re saying, but why is it “basically next season”?

Thinking outside the box (hate that phrase) why does the new season have to start in august? I know there’s all the players/sponsor/tv contracts but these can be extended, annulled, paid off or whatever.
Who’s to say that “next season” can’t start in October, or November? Or that the league cup and the Fa cup are cancelled or streamlined next season to fit in the league fixtures?
Everything can be moved, I think it’s amazing how so much of our usual world has just suddenly stopped and adapted and on the whole the majority of the human race are behaving brilliantly. If the powers that be in football refuse to be radical with their solutions then they are as good as useless.
Let’s face it the players won’t need a summer break, sorry Dubai.
Hell they could even play the remaining fixtures behind closed doors, reduced game time, 2-3 matches per week, more subs allowed to avoid fatigue, two home games back to back ,who knows ?
Have a week break and then straight into 20/21 season.
Get rid of stupid international friendlies against The Azores and such like. No Euro qualifiers cos were already going.
