My parents (both 80s) are struggling to get food delivered, any tips?

Said they couldn't get any from the supermarkets as there were either no delivery slots or they weren't accepting new customers.

I thought the authorities were supposed to be bolstering delivery services, particularly for the elderly and vulnerable. Surely it's time to deploy the army to aid in the logistics of supplying basics to every who needs them
