Course its related to use of VAR because its the use of VAR in combination with the

rule that has highlighted the issue.

So no its not the "fault" of VAR but its something that would not have been an issue had we not started using VAR to check every goal for offside. Its a case of the rules needing to be adapted if we are going to continue using VAR in order to avoid spoiling people's enjoyment of the game.
