It’s not a “narrative”.

People, understandably enough, tend to read what they agree with. I don’t think it’s that hard to deal with. For example, I don’t actively read the Express or Mail because of their political stance: I don’t agree with it. It doesn’t mean I don’t know what they are saying because it’s pretty impossible to avoid. So it doesn’t mean I don’t understand or see that side of the argument - I just don’t sympathise with it, as is my (and everyone’s) right. It DOESN'T mean I think those opinions don’t count but I do reserve the right to have and state different ones.

What I find most frustrating is that many people currently seem to think that disagreement means you’re telling someone else what to think. Nothing could be further from the truth; disagreement merely is saying what I think is different. What you do with that point of view is entirely personal.
